In 2013, Marinas Performance supplied and installed the floating pontoon infrastructure for NAVDEX, the naval and maritime defence exhibition held alongside IDEX at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi. The project required a large scale, highly stable system capable of supporting military vessel displays, defence demonstrations and significant visitor foot traffic throughout the event.

The installation delivered a total pontoon area of three thousand seven hundred and fifty square metres, forming a substantial floating platform network for showcasing patrol craft, interceptor boats and specialised defence vessels. Structural stability and load capacity were key considerations due to the weight of the vessels exhibited and the operational requirements of demonstration activities.

The pontoon system provided direct water access for participating navies, defence manufacturers and government delegations, enabling secure berthing and efficient movement between vessels and onshore exhibition spaces. The layout was engineered to accommodate heavy duty fendering, mooring loads and controlled visitor circulation while maintaining safe operating conditions throughout the expo.

NAVDEX 2013 remains one of the region’s largest temporary maritime displays, and the floating infrastructure delivered by Marinas Performance contributed to the seamless operation of the event. The project showcases the capability of modular pontoon systems to support complex, high capacity environments within major defence and maritime exhibitions.
