Frequently Asked Questions

System selection depends on vessel size, site exposure, water depth, freeboard requirements, expected loads and project budget. Heavy duty sites and superyacht berths generally suit high mass systems such as the Superior Mega Elite™, while club and residential marinas often use Superior Capri™ or modular docks.

Yes. Many marinas use a combination of systems, for example a heavy duty system for the outer face and lighter systems for internal berths or fingers. Layouts are engineered so that all components work together structurally.

Superior Mega Elite™ and Superior Elite™ systems are specifically designed for higher load and higher exposure sites, with increased mass, freeboard and reinforcement. Anchorage, pile design and wave climate are reviewed as part of the engineering process.

Depending on the system, options can include concrete, composite, hardwood or specialised non slip surfaces. The choice is guided by maintenance preferences, aesthetic goals and expected traffic levels.

Yes. Marina layouts are planned with future stages in mind, allowing additional berths, fingers or breakwaters to be added. Modular docks offer the most flexibility, but concrete systems can also be extended with appropriate engineering.

With appropriate design, materials and maintenance, concrete pontoon systems are intended for long service life under normal marine conditions. Design life is considered during the engineering stage and can be aligned with your asset planning requirements.
