Al Gurm Resort, Abu Dhabi

In 2010, Marinas Performance completed the extensive pontoon network for Al Gurm Resort in Abu Dhabi, one of the city’s most exclusive waterfront residential developments. Set within a protected mangrove environment, the project required a highly customised marine access solution that complemented the resort’s private villa design while preserving the surrounding natural landscape.

The installation comprises seventy four individual villa pontoons with a combined pontoon area of two thousand two hundred and fifty square metres. Each pontoon provides direct water access for its adjoining villa, offering residents convenient berthing for small craft and an enhanced waterfront living experience. The modular configurations were tailored to suit varying villa positions and waterway geometry across the development.

Engineered for durability and year round performance, the pontoons incorporate reinforced structures, stable freeboard levels and long lasting deck surfaces suited to the tidal and environmental conditions of the Abu Dhabi coastline. The lightweight aluminium gangways deliver safe and comfortable access from each terrace to its private pontoon, while maintaining a clean architectural aesthetic that matches the resort’s design language.

Completed in 2010, the Al Gurm Resort pontoon system stands as one of the region’s most distinctive residential marine infrastructure projects, demonstrating how thoughtful design and precision engineering can elevate high end waterfront living.
