ADNEC Pontoon System, Abu Dhabi

In 2009, Marinas Performance delivered the permanent pontoon system for the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre waterfront, supporting marine access for events, visiting vessels and year round operational use. As a major interface between ADNEC and the adjacent waterway, the installation required a robust, long lasting solution capable of handling diverse vessel types and varied loading conditions.

The project included a permanent superior pontoon system with a total area of one thousand seven hundred and fifty square metres. The pontoons were engineered for exceptional stability and durability, providing a dependable platform for commercial craft, support vessels and occasional large yacht berthing during major exhibitions and waterfront events.

Constructed with high strength materials and reinforced structural components, the pontoon system offers reliable freeboard control and excellent performance in Abu Dhabi’s tidal environment. The deck layout integrates cleats, fendering and service connections to support a wide range of marine activities while maintaining a clean, professional appearance suitable for an exhibition venue.

Completed in 2009, the ADNEC pontoon system remains an important asset for the waterfront operations of the exhibition centre, demonstrating the value of well engineered floating infrastructure in high profile public and commercial environments.
